IndexChex credit system
Published · By IndexChex
In brief
IndexChex credits are a single balance spent across every feature: 1 credit per standard URL or index check, 60 per instant URL, 5 per backlink monitor run. Pack credits do not expire while the account is active; subscription credits roll over up to 2x the monthly allotment and end with the subscription.
One balance for every feature
IndexChex uses credits as its only unit of account. The same balance pays for submission, verification and monitoring, which is the point of the design: a URL can be submitted, checked and resubmitted without switching tools or budgets.
| Action | Credits |
|---|---|
| Standard or drip-fed submission | 1 per URL |
| Instant submission | 60 per URL |
| Index check | 1 per URL |
| Scheduled re-check | 1 per URL |
| Backlink monitor | 5 per source/target pair per run |
Job size limits for each action are on the specifications page. Dollar values depend on the plan or pack the credits came from and are tabulated on the pricing page.
Where credits come from
Credits are bought in two ways. Monthly plans add a fixed allotment each billing cycle: 5,000, 25,000 or 100,000. One-time packs add 5,000, 25,000, 100,000 or 1,000,000 credits once. There is no free trial and no signup credit, so an account's balance starts at zero.
Expiry and rollover
The two sources follow different rules, set out in the IndexChex refunds and returns policy:
| Source | While active | When it ends |
|---|---|---|
| Pack (pay as you go) | Does not expire solely through the passage of time | Account must remain active and in good standing |
| Subscription | Unused credits roll over, capped at 2x the current plan's monthly allotment | Credits may be forfeited when the subscription ends |
Example: a Growth subscriber with 25,000 credits a month who spends nothing can hold at most 50,000 subscription credits. Credits above that cap do not accumulate. A user who expects long idle periods may prefer packs for that reason.
Credits and the API
Jobs created through API v1 or the SpeedyIndex-compatible API v2 draw on the same balance at the same rates as the dashboard. The API also exposes the current balance, so an integration can stop queuing work before it runs out instead of discovering a rejected job. Each user's API key is tied to that user's balance.
Reservation and return
Some credits are reserved rather than spent immediately. When a submission includes a scheduled re-check, 1 credit per URL is set aside at creation. If the re-check is cancelled before it runs, those credits go back to the balance. The scheduled checks page describes the timing.
Credits spent on submission are not returned because a URL failed to index. IndexChex guarantees crawling, not indexing, so a crawled-but-unindexed URL is a delivered service. Exceptions such as billing errors and undelivered credits are covered on the policies page.
What credits are not
Credits are a platform-limited digital service, not stored money. They are non-transferable, cannot be resold, can be used only on IndexChex and have no cash value except where applicable law requires. They are typically delivered to the account promptly after payment.
Planning a budget
Because one balance covers every step, it helps to budget per URL rather than per feature. A standard submission followed by one check costs 2 credits. Adding a resubmission of the misses adds 1 credit for each URL that needed it. The published standard-mode measurement is in the claims ledger, and the way that average is produced is on the methodology page; it is an average, so individual jobs will differ.
FAQ
Do IndexChex credits expire?
Pack credits do not expire with time while the account is active and in good standing. Subscription credits roll over while the plan is active, up to 2x the monthly allotment, and may be forfeited when the subscription ends.
Can credits be transferred or cashed out?
No. Credits are platform-specific, non-transferable and have no cash value except where the law requires otherwise.
Are credits returned when a URL is not indexed?
No. Non-indexing alone does not return credits. Reserved credits for a cancelled scheduled re-check are returned.
Are there free credits at signup?
No. IndexChex has no free trial and no signup credits.
